Zion Bowens is the epitome of perseverance and service, both on and off the field. Despite facing numerous challenges, he remains dedicated to his passion for football and his community.

In 2017, with limited football offers despite being highly sought-after for track, Zion took a gamble on his talent and committed to the Air Force Academy. Two years later, as an honorably discharged veteran, he left the Academy in search of a more suitable program. In 2019, Zion attended LBCC, where he caught the attention of several DI schools while his father battled stage 4 colon cancer. Zion found solace in serving his community through his local church.

2020 posed another significant challenge for Zion when his father’s cancer took a turn for the worse. But the determined wide receiver remained resilient, persevered through his personal struggles, and continued to excel on the field. After the tragic passing of his father in December of that year, Zion summoned the strength to finish the season, including playing in the New Mexico bowl game, helping his team emerge victorious. In 2021, which ended in a team exodus due to coaching challenges he remained committed and regularly served the homeless with his church members.

In 2022, Zion became a leader on his team, showcasing his talents despite a minor injury that sidelined him for several weeks. He finished his career at Hawaii with impressive stats, leaving a lasting impact on his team and community.
